What Unwall handles

Unwall is provided by adik dev studio. It accesses the text, headings, images, and links in content you choose to read, including selected text and PDF documents. This content is used to display Reader view, focus paragraphs, and highlight words during speech.

When you open the extension, it uses the current tab’s address to identify supported pages and PDFs. PDF source addresses may be kept in the reader tab’s session storage to support restoration. Unwall does not build a history of all the sites you visit.

Clicks, hovering, keyboard input, and scrolling control reading. Unwall does not record these interactions as activity logs or analytics.

What stays on your device

Your voice, speed, text size, colors, reading layout, and other preferences are saved in your browser’s local extension storage. An instructional hint flag is also saved locally. These settings are not sent to adik dev studio.

Webpage reading uses a temporary in-memory text cache. For PDFs, Unwall stores extracted reading content, the document title, and page previews where applicable in local IndexedDB so the document can be restored after a refresh. A tab-specific reference is kept in session storage.

PDF snapshots are eligible for restoration for 24 hours. Expired snapshots are removed when accessed or when another document is saved; cleanup is not a timer, so unused expired records may remain on disk longer.

PDF files and passwords

Files you select are processed locally with bundled PDF software and are not uploaded to adik dev studio. For a PDF address, Unwall requests permission to access that origin and downloads the document from the address you provide. The document host receives the request and may receive existing browser credentials, subject to browser rules.

For password-protected PDFs, the password you enter is used locally to open the document. Unwall does not save that password in preferences or recovery storage, or send it to adik dev studio.

Read-aloud and external services

Unwall uses your browser’s speech synthesis service. Depending on the selected voice and your browser or operating system, speech may be generated on your device or by an online voice provider. An online voice may receive the text being spoken and process it under that provider’s privacy policy.

Automatic voice selection may choose an online voice. Choose an available device voice or turn off text to speech if you do not want reading text sent to an online speech service. Unwall does not operate its own speech server.

Reader view may load article images from their original hosts. Those hosts can receive ordinary network requests, including your IP address and browser request information. PDF hosts and speech providers have their own data practices.

Permissions

• Current tab: identifies the page or PDF you want to read when you open Unwall.
• Website access: enables reading controls on supported HTTP and HTTPS pages. Optional origin access allows downloads of PDFs you choose to open.
• Local file access: supports opening file-address PDFs if you enable this browser permission. You can also choose a file directly.
• Storage: remembers reading preferences and interface hints. PDF recovery uses separate local browser storage.

How data is used and shared

Unwall uses data only to provide its reading functionality. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising or creditworthiness decisions, or send reading content to adik dev studio. Network requests needed for documents, images, and speech are described above.

Unwall’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and deletion

You can turn reading and text to speech off, change voices, and revoke optional site or file access in your browser’s extension settings. Closing a reader tab ends its active reading session but does not immediately delete its cached PDF snapshot.

To remove Unwall’s locally stored preferences and PDF recovery data, uninstall the extension from your browser. This does not delete original PDF files on your device or data independently held by document hosts or speech providers.

We will update this page when Unwall’s data handling changes and revise the date above. Questions about privacy or requests concerning information you have shared with us can be sent through the contact link on adik.dev.

If you contact us, we receive the message and contact details you provide and use them to respond. Avoid including private documents or passwords in support messages.
